Inadequate levels of moisture on the outer skin layers
and the epidermis, contribute significantly to an
accelerated aging of the skin, resulting in excessive
wrinkles, dryness and a tendency toward fine lines.
As facial skin becomes drier, there is a breakdown
of proper skin mechanisms and the skin cells become
stiff and inflexible. The loss of barrier lipids further
increases exposure of the skin cells, especially in dry
climates. Because the skin is more vulnerable in these
conditions, its ability to withstand environmental
dryness becomes even more impaired, resulting
in a continuing degeneration of the skin’s vitality.
Healthy cellular skin protections occurs when your
skin is able to lock in moisture consistently over time.
A well-balance moisturizer can promote healing
and repair the damage in dry skin. One of the best
solutions I have found for dry skin is FLP’s Recovery
Night Creme, with special skin humectants that lock
in moisture and keep the skin in a proper oil/water
balance. This lotion is chosen by many of my female
patients as one of their favorite skin creams, capable
of delivering intensive moisturizing protection to the
face all night long. Also, collagen and hydrolyzed
elastin in the product help to reduce fine lines. I
recommend Recovery Night Creme for anyone
who wants protection from the aging effects of dry
climates.
